Research Summary

My research explores the life and music of Derbyshire-born composer, Roger Sacheverell Coke (1912-72). While focussing on the production of new editions and performances of the music, my research will also encompass an exploration of how the composer’s homosexuality and mental afflictions may have had an impact on his compositional style.
