Research Summary
My research is a practice-based, interdisciplinary exploration of the ways in which oral histories of migration can be used to positive effect in electroacoustic composition. In partnership with cultural and artistic institutions, I will use both archival recordings and first-hand interviews to create new sound works around the theme of migration. In the process, I will work to develop a reflexive compositional praxis; an ethical approach to collecting and composing with oral histories of migration.
