Research Summary

My research investigates the phenomenon of lexicalisation, which is the process whereby a concept is given lexical expression. I explore the role of structural relations within the lexicon and lexical borrowing on the process of lexical change. I do so by comparing various adjectives from two Germanic languages, English and Dutch, as case studies.
