Thesis Title

Devising Intimacy in Film: Ethical Interactivity in Intimacy Coordination

Institution

Supervisors

Research Summary

This practice-based research seeks to establish a methodology of intimacy coordination for film, rooted in improvisation and choreology, informed by phenomenology, and guided by an ethics of consensual interactivity.

An ethical grid will be considered which pits deontology against consequentialism to be then reshaped as an ethical interactive model supportive of devising intimate scenes for film, respectively in the rehearsal space, on set, and as presented to an audience on screen.
