Research Summary

Ramin’s research involves the analysis of Shakespearean adaptations and appropriations in contemporary Iranian drama in relation to the social, political, and censorial context of the country. It argues how the Iranian adaptor-playwright stage issues such as gender equality, politics, and contemporary history by establishing an intertextual-intercultural link with Shakespeare’s drama.
