REAlab Researcher-Led and Partners Projects : Additional Funding Announced

Closing date: 29 April 2018

We are excited to announce that additional funding is now available to develop REAlab Researcher-Led Projects and collaborative research projects with our 2018 cultural partners (see available projects below).

Over the course of the programme, you will gain expertise in research consultancy and knowledge exchange and transform research into practice by bringing your academic skills to tackle real-world challenges within the broader community beyond academia. By participating to REAlab 2018 you will access:

  • High-quality professional training led by experts in professional development, with a focus on strengthening all the skills required for effective project management, research consultancy and partner engagement within an interdisciplinary team-work environment;
  • A mentorship scheme tailored to each project team  from start to completion
  • Further team-building training opportunities during the delivery stage (June and September, see dates below) with our communication/engagement experts;
  • The REAlab Project Award (£1000) to each team successfully completing their projects.

The programme has been designed to boost the employability of doctoral and postdoctoral researchers willing to acquire professional skills in research consultancy, leadership and engagement and to develop close professional ties with academic colleagues and non-academic partners in the region. It will suit researchers interested in developing an academic profile attuned to knowledge exchange and research impact as well as researchers who want to develop consultancy skills to move to the industry after their PhD.

Application is open to PhD and EC researchers affiliated to/recently graduated from one of the institutions of the NWCDTP (University of Manchester, University of Salford, RNCM, MMU, Keele, Lancaster and University of Liverpool).

The closing date for applications is 5PM, 29 April 2018. Applications are open to individuals and teams. Training held in May and projects to be completed by November 2018.

Some training-only places are still available.
